SEMESTER A TENTATIVE SCHEDULE

GENERAL Class Info
LENGTH OF TIME/CLASS SIZE
Classes are designed for combined middle and high school students. They are held on the days and times as outlined on the above schedule and are 50 minutes long each. Class sizes are limited to 10 students per class. Students' place is reserved by contacting us using the contact form above.
BELIEFS
While Jenny is religious, the classes are not, with the exception of family history conversations sometimes talking about emotionally and spiritually connecting to ancestors. No statement of faith is required.
LOCATION
Classes are held at the residence of Jenny McKinney, near Bearden Middle School in West Knoxville and will be taught by her as well. The address will be given once students are registered.

PICK-UP/DROP-OFF
Parents are expected to drop off and pick up the students on time. If a student plans to drive themself, please make Jenny aware of that before the semester starts so she can plan for parking.
TUITION
Prices are as listed above. Tuition is due by the 15th of each month and can be paid via the website or Venmo. When you pay on the website, you will choose your classes at the checkout under "Additional Information".

EXPERIENCE
Jenny is proficient in teaching each of the subjects either from her 17 years of homeschooling or her professional background in some of the subjects. If you would like to know more about her background, please see the about page.

SEMESTER A- Schedule may change. Final Schedule to be posted July 1st.
WEDNESDAY
World History & Geography A: Students will learn about countries from each continent through history, stories, music, and culture, tying in personal heritage. Weekly worksheets for homework.
(Meets Social Studies requirement for graduation. 1/2 credit per semester.)
LIFE SKILLS: Students will learn about life skills in preparation for adulthood. Some of these skill include bill paying, credit/debit cards, budgeting, menu planning, grocery shopping, basic first aid, making appointments, digitial life skills, home care and more.
(Meets Personal Finance or Elective requirement for graduation. 1/2 credit)
Family History Research A: As a professional family historian, Jenny will teach her students how to do beginning Family History Research using FamilySearch, Ancestry, and more. Students learn research skills that can be used beyond family history. (Meets Social Studies or Humanities requirement for graduation. 1/2 credit)
THURSDAY
Home Economics: Students learn skills for making a house a home, such as organizing, canning, bread making, basic sewing, and more.
(Meets Humanties requirement for graduation. 1/2 credit)
STORYTELLING: As a lifetime professional storyteller, Jenny will teach the tools of the trade. Classes cover writing with purpose, learning how storytelling impacts our brains, poetry, fairy tales, writing personal history stories, and much more.
(Meets English requirements for graation. 1/2 credit)
Career Exploration: Students will learn about applying for jobs, building resumes, interview skills, and how to choose a career path to support their interests and talents. (Meets Elective requirements for graduation. 1/2 credit)
